Job Title:Maintenance & Sanitation SupervisorLocation: Hanover,
PAReports to:Maintenance ManagerSalary:$55-67kShift:3rdOversee and
supervise the plant sanitation programs to ensure proper sanitation
of all food processing equipment and areas in accordance with
government regulatory agencies and Company standards. Supervises
the movement, installation, repair of machines and plant equipment
on the third shiftQUALIFICATIONSPrevious experience working in a
food processing facility, preferably in maintenance and/or
sanitationFamiliarity with food processing and packaging
equipmentKnowledge of chemicals and compoundsFamiliar with and
basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical
professing, packaging, and material handling equipmentAbility to
communicate effectively, both verbal and written formSupervisory
experienceRESPONSIBILITIES Supervises and is responsible for all
activities of the sanitation (clean up) crew, including the
sanitizing of processing equipment, general housekeeping, disposal
of waste materials and cleanup of the grounds outside the
plant.Supervises the repair of all production equipment as
required.Provides line maintenance support to Production and
Labeling.Ensures that all plant support areas are cleaned on a
scheduled basis.Responsible for ensuring the following safety
requirements are met:Conducting safety orientation and safety
training of employeesEnforcing safe work practicesCorrecting unsafe
conditionsPreventing lingering unsafe and unhealthful workplace
conditions or hazardsInvestigating workplace accidentsInforms
Quality Assurance management of any insect and/or rodent
problems.Responsible for the implementation of food safety,
legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of
the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP s, HACCP,
food safety, product quality, food security, government guidelines
and requirements, pre-requisite programs, quality systems,
etc.Maintains an inventory of cleaning supplies within budgetary
parameters.Works closely with and cooperates with all
recommendations concerning sanitation made by USDA and Quality
Assurance personnel in accordance with Company procedures.Reports
any unusual conditions to the Maintenance Manager or Production
Manager
whether it be related to mechanical, personnel or sanitary
conditions.Coordinates the sanitation of specialized production
lines to meet regulatory mandates.Through sanitation procedures and
inspections, provides safety and hygiene recommendations to the
Personnel Department in order to keep the Plant and equipment in
safe operating condition.Identifies sources of energy loss along
with recommendations for realizing energy savings and reports
information to the Maintenance Manager.Recommends and when
necessary administers discipline on an equitable basis to personnel
who fail to meet standards or who violate Company rules and
regulations.Supervise the placement and orientation of new
personnel and coordinate the efficient handling of matters
regarding personnel including promotions, transfers, wage
increases, etc. Appraises subordinates at least annually.Reports
promptly, investigates, and attempts to resolve grievances in
conjunction with the Personnel Department.Reviews and submits
weekly time and attendance information to Plant Personnel in
accordance with Payroll procedures.Assists and/or assigns a Lead
person to accompany USDA inspection prior to each production day s
startup.Maintains a Sanitation Manual to include all current
cleaning procedures and a copy of each Supplier s label for each
chemical used.Adheres to universal responsibilities of a management
position.Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance
Manager.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe ability to attend work predictably
