experienced Head of Policy and Regulatory Affairs, Americas to lead
our government and regulatory relations functions for the United
States, Canada and broader Americas region! In tandem with
colleagues in Compliance, Legal and other teams throughout the
company, the Head of Policy and Regulatory Affairs, Americas will
manage a portfolio of key issues for the business with a focus on
priority setting, policy advisory, and external advocacy. This
position will report to the Chief Legal and Corporate Affairs
Officer. This position will be based in Washington, DC and some
travel will be expected to interact with Americas employees, state
regulators and international regulators in Canada and other
countries in the region.You Will:
- Priority Setting: Work with the business management, product,
legal and horizon scanning teams to identify key policy and
regulatory risks and opportunities for our business based on
OKRs.
- Policy Advisory: Work with horizon scanning, business
management and product teams to advise and educate these teams on
the key risks and opportunities created by policy and regulatory
developments. Monitor ongoing regulatory, legislative and
compliance efforts to ensure Remitly's business efforts continue to
stay ahead of market developments. Work with legal and compliance
teams on implementing policy compliance as needed.
- External Advocacy: Build trust with policymakers and regulators
at the federal, state, and local levels and effectively advocate
for Remitly's key priorities. Assist in drafting and negotiating
language for legislation. Represent Remitly in relevant policy and
business coalitions to advance advocacy efforts locally, nationally
and globally. Grow and maintain diverse coalitions and promote
Remitly thought-leadership in support of policy issues and business
priorities.You Have:
- 7+ combined years of public policy, regulatory affairs and/or
government affairs experience, preferably including experience
working at a government/regulatory agency and in the government
affairs or regulatory policy team at a fintech, payments or
financial services company.
- Working knowledge in fintech and/or financial services in a
quickly scaling environment.
- Ability to identify a range of policy or regulatory issues and
advise within a structured and analytical commercial
framework.
- Demonstrated proficiency in working with and advising senior
executives of an organization.
- Demonstrated proficiency in working successfully with
regulatory and government personnel.
- Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Skills or aptitude as a connector and relationship
builder.
- Law, public policy, business, or other relevant advanced degree
preferred.
- Self starting, self motivated style.
- Willingness to register as a lobbyist.Compensation Details: The
starting base salary range for this position is typically
$192,000-$240,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders
in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
