Division Overview:
Crown's Food Division is one of the leading manufacturer of food
cans in the world. Our complete array of food packaging serves a
variety of markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat,
ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder and other dry food
products. We offer a wide selection of food cans from round to bowl
as well as shaped cans. We truly focus on excellence. Here is your

Location:
Plant 37 is located in Hanover, PA. The Plant manufactures 2-piece
and 3-piece steel cans for the food industry, working both
continuous and conventional shifts. There are approximately 85
employees at the Hanover location. The Plant is located on Route
194 in York County and is in close proximity to Gettysburg PA, York
PA and the Maryland border.
**CURRENT OPENINGS ARE ON BOTH CONTINUOUS SCHEDULEs; 4x4, 5a-5p;
5p-5a.**
Position Overview:
The Machine Operator, reporting directly to the Manufacturing
Supervisor, is responsible for the safe and proper application of
lacquer spray coating to the inside of the can in compliance with
quality control specifications. They have primary control of the
processing of cans from the point of infeeding cans into the
conveying above the spray machines, until the reach ovens.
Duties And Responsibilities:
The LSM Operator's responsibilities would include, but not be
limited to, the following:
Safety first attitude to work effectively in a team environment
Monitor the following items, including but not limited to,
continuously throughout the shift; clean canworks
overall quality of cans
pressure of spray coatings
temperature of spray coatings
Complete and record required process control checks, using
appropriate computer systems or paper documentation, including but
not limited to; Metal can exposure of cans
Weight of lacquer on inside of cans
Film weight distribution
Maintain cleanliness of machines, including but not limited to;
spray nozzles, turret wheels, lacquer overspray boxes, machine
exterior and general work area.
Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Perform routine maintenance, including setting of guns, nozzles,
can guides and spray delay.
Perform preventative maintenance which includes the replacement of
drive and conveyor belts to the oven, tips, rails, guns, lacquer,
and vacuum filters.
Follow proper material handling procedures, which includes proper
disposal of waste lacquer and labeling of waste barrels.
Perform equipment set-up evaluations on LMSs after adjustment or
changes to machines are completed.
Monitor and assist other production processes on the Back End to
ensure a constant flow of cans into and through the LSM process
Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
Minimum Requirements
Manufacturing experience
Basic computer skills
Must be available to work alternate shift schedules based on
business need - overtime may be required.
Preferred Requirements
High School Education/GED
Basic mechanical skills
Previous manufacturing experience
Knowledge of all OSHA related training in a manufacturing
environment.
Able to work with strong attention to detail, follow detailed
instructions, establish and maintain high level of organization and
quality
6S Training
GMP and Food Safety knowledge and/or previous experience
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is
regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands
and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or
crawl
The team member may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Ability to sit and/or stand for 8-12-hour shifts
Specific vision abilities required by this job include; close
vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust
focus
Working Conditions
Generally, works in a plant environment
While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be
exposed to light lifting, warehouse forklift traffic
Team member may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
Production noise level is frequently loud
