DescriptionHanover Foods Corporation located in Hanover PA is currently seeking a Heavy Laborer position on 2nd shift. This position is primarily responsible for performing general, non-mechanical laborer duties throughout the Plant.Primary responsibilities1. Sight inspects and removes defects or any extraneous material from product2. Performs general, non-mechanical, labor duties throughout the plant.3. Prepares raw materials for production4. Deposits fatback into cans by hand or meat depositor5. Responsible for physically lifting up to 100 pounds as required6. Responsible for container inspections to include seam inspections, proper lid placements, and proper fill levels in containers7. Responsible for keeping work area clean to include sweeping, dumping, and/or disposing of materials used in production8. Responsible for understanding how certain equipment operates and how to stop equipment if the automatic function fails9. Should not leave assigned work area unless given permission by the Supervisor and/or Leadperson10. Responsible for reporting any mechanical and/or safety problems immediately to the Supervisor and/or Leadperson11. Adheres to common safety practices/guidelines, including the wearing of protective clothing and equipment as required12. Adheres to plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity13. Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP's, HACCP, safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc14. Assists in loading and unloading kettles in the retorts15. Must be able to operate a forklift, electric pallet jack, bobcat and hoist when needed16.
