Job Description Job Description About the Role We are seeking an immediate hire. Position is for a compassionate and dedicated Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney to join our practice. This role is designed for a legal professional who is driven by a genuine interest in helping individuals navigate financial hardship and achieve a fresh start. You will manage Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases, providing strategic legal counsel and empathetic support to clients throughout the bankruptcy process. Key Responsibilities Conduct initial consultations to evaluate financial situations and recommend appropriate bankruptcy options. Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and related court documents. Represent clients at 341 Meetings of Creditors and before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and guidance on their cases. Negotiate with creditors and trustees to protect client interests. Qualifications Licensure: Must be an active member in good standing with the Virginia State Bar. Experience: Previous experience in consumer bankruptcy is preferred, but we are willing to train candidates who demonstrate a strong passion for this practice area. Federal Admission: Admission to the United States District Court for the Eastern or Western District of Virginia is highly preferable; candidates willing to obtain admission immediately upon hire will also be considered. Skills: Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload with empathy.
