Job Description Job Description Associate Attorney –
Immigration: Habeas Corpus, Bond, Removal Defense, and Domestic and
International Family-Based Immigration Grossman Young & Hammond, an
internationally recognized, family-friendly immigration and
international human rights law firm, is seeking a full-time
associate attorney to work in the firm’s immigration and litigation
practice. The associate will spearhead the GYH’s expanding habeas
corpus docket, helping noncitizens unlawfully detained by U.S.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) seek release from
custody. The associate will also support the Firm’s international
protection practice on an as-needed basis. The attorney will work
out of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. The ideal candidate is a
team player who thrives in a collegial environment and is
passionate about advocating for immigrant rights. Strong candidates
will come to the job with, at a minimum, an interest in habeas
corpus litigation and a basic understanding of how the U.S.
immigration system operates. Ideal candidates must have excellent
organizational skills; proven, superior writing ability; oral
advocacy prowess; and attention to detail. Ideal candidates are
creative, articulate, have a can-do attitude, and are
intellectually curious. The candidate will be mentored by and
support a team of senior attorneys and partners. Responsibilities
include: Synthesizing legal research and analysis into written
memoranda or briefs, preparing court filings, appearing in court
and before various agencies, and performing case work as assigned;
Identifying potential issues in client cases and developing
strategies to address them; Researching, analyzing and staying
up-to-date on relevant areas of the law and current events;
Conducting/participating in client meetings and calls; Preparing
applications for immigration benefits; Responding to client
inquiries; Representing clients at USCIS interviews; Representing
clients in immigration court; Representing clients in federal
court; Representing clients in connection with administrative and
judicial appeals; and Supporting firm initiatives to help us
continuously improve how we do our work. Required Education, Skills
and Experience: J.D. Spanish language skills strongly preferred.
0-4 years of experience in immigration law Compensation and
Benefits: Salary : $80,000–$105,000 (commensurate with experience)

options. Work Schedule: 40 hours per week Domestic and
