Retirement Legal Partner/Associate PartnerThis is a hybrid role
with the flexibility to work both virtually and from any of our Aon

consultant to assist stakeholders with federal income tax and ERISA
questions and issues related to the design and administration of
benefit, compensation, and human resource programs. Colleagues use
analytical and communication skills and technical depth to help
internal and external clients and other colleagues address business
considerations and legal risks. Legal consultants would be expected
to draft defined benefit and defined contribution plan documents
and amendments, address Section 409A compliance and correction
issues. In addition, they will assist with IRS determination letter
applications, evaluate noncompliance issues and prepare EPCRS
filings, draft summary plan descriptions and related plan
disclosures. Finally, they will also research new and innovative
ideas involving retirement and employee benefits generally.
- Technical consulting: Provide research involving tax and ERISA
matters that support creative solutions to technical issues that
strike an appropriate balance between technical and business
considerations; serve as a firm-wide expert in one or more specific
legal areas; ensure that consultants and clients value
resourcefulness, creativity and well-reasoned risk taking.
- Legal developments: Monitor regulatory developments and their
impact on clients and colleagues
- Client leadership: Maintain thorough understanding of clients'
businesses; maintain strong personal relationships with clients and
help other colleagues to develop client relationships; help bring
consultants with different skills and attributes together to
improve Aon's responsiveness to client needs
- Business leadership: Play a leading role in developing new
consulting opportunities for legal and consultants within Wealth
Solutions; recognize opportunities to make integrated offers that
span business lines
- Thought leadership: Provide strategic direction on topics which
affect our business (either locally, nationally, or more broadly to
the line of business); support and encourage new ideas;
research/analyze information to send to clients; train and support
other colleaguesSkills and experience that will lead to success
- Eight plus years of experience in legal practice in
ERISA/employee benefits, preferably at a large law firm (100+),
smaller specialty law firm (e.g., ERISA, employment law), benefits
consulting firm, or corporate counsel
- Hands-on experience working with retirement plans and related
administration is strongly preferredEducation: Bachelor's degree
from an accredited law school or equivalent years of industry

at any time.The salary range for this position (intended for U.S.
applicants) is $225,000 to $325,000 annually. The actual salary
will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and
abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market
data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's
geographic location.This position is eligible to participate in one
of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary
bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies
and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable
incentive plan.Aon offers a comprehensive package of benefits for
