challenges. As a Data Scientist/Machine Learning Developer at GDIT,

the SME level is recognized as an SME within the occupation and is
someone that is certified with specific languages, systems or
technology required or has a significant number of years of
experience; experience with the subject matter or technology
outweighs the number of years of experience. SMEs shall be able to
mentor or training other members of the contractor team and share
their expertise within and across the contract, organizational
boundaries and with mission partners. Mission partner-facing
communication skills may be required. The candidate will take
requirements from a teammate with User Interface/User Experience
(UI/UX) expertise in the form of wireframes, site maps,
diagrams/schematics, process maps, feature lists, mock-ups and
visual specifications. Lean Agile is the development process used
on the team so familiarity with that methodology is key.
Responsibility for development of unit tests and the automated
execution of those tests as well as participation in end-to-end
testing is required. Estimation of cost and schedule for
enhancements and/or new requirements is also expected. REQUIRED
SKILLS AND DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE Experience in developing and
training machine learning models, analyzing user feedback and
interaction data, and collaborating with the NLP engineers and
information retrieval SME. Experience with agentic AI platforms,
model parameter tuning and dynamic CPU/GPU scheduling OpenAI,
Anthropic (Claude), LLM, Transformers, Retrieval Augmented
Generation, Vector Embeddings Python Libraries like TensorFlow,
PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, SciPy, FilterPy
Front End Skills: Single Page Applications using Vue, JavaScript,
C++, C#, Perl, TypeScript, IaC, CSS, SCSS, DHTML, UML and Python,
Responsive Design, RESTful APIs, React, Angular Tools/Frameworks:
OzoneFuze Widget Framework, Ozone Widget Framework, JEE (EJB, JSP,
Tag-Libs), Spring (Core, MVC & AOP, Security, Data), Google Web
Toolkit, Hibernate, Struts, Selenium, Eclipse Back End Skills:
Microservices, REST, Node.js, Nest.js, AWS CDK, EMR, RDS, ELB
Documented Experience with DevOps/Platforms: Amazon Web Services
(S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, etc.)
Demonstrated experience with CI/CD: Jenkins, Artifactory, Docker,
Kubernetes and build tools like maven, Gradle, git Experience with
databases/datastores: Presto, HiveSQL, Trino, Spark (PySpark),
ElasticSearch (OpenSearch), Cassandra, Couchbase, Redis, MongoDB,
OrientDB, Hadoop (HBase/Phoenix) Excellent skills in DB Schema
design and SQL development Formulates and defines system scope and
objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify
moderately complex information systems Translate software
requirements into working and maintainable solutions within the
existing application frameworks Implement the products lifecycle:
Design, development, quality, deployment and maintenance Develop
and adhere to best-practices for developing applications Experience

VA_2026Alumni The likely salary range for this position is $182,882
- $247,428. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or
salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic
location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall
