This is a hybrid role (3 days in the office/2 days remote). About
your team: We seek an experienced Associate General Counsel –
eDiscovery to lead and manage the firm’s eDiscovery program. The
ideal candidate will have a strong legal background in litigation
and investigations, experience managing eDiscovery vendors and
outside counsel, and a demonstrated ability to partner with
cross-functional teams to drive compliance and operational
excellence. What will be your responsibilities within IBKR:
eDiscovery Program Management • Coordinate all aspects of
eDiscovery work across the in-house legal team for litigations and
investigations, including legal holds, document preservation, early
case assessment, and document review. • Manage Outside Counsel and
eDiscovery vendors to ensure consistency, quality, and
cost-effectiveness across the firm’s case portfolio. • Internalize
appropriate eDiscovery tasks and optimize workflows by ensuring
responsibilities are effectively distributed among internal teams,
law firms, and vendors. • Coordinate with internal counsel to
manage data collections, apply search protocols, and oversee
document review processes for internal investigations. • Develop
and oversee eDiscovery budgets, implementing cost-control measures
and optimizing resource allocation to ensure efficient spending and
substantial cost savings in litigation and investigation processes.
Technology Strategy & Innovation • Stay current on eDiscovery
technology advancements, including AI-driven tools such as
Technology-Assisted Review (TAR) and GenAI for document review. •
Recommend and implement new technologies to enhance the efficiency
and effectiveness of the eDiscovery process. • Collaborate with
internal teams, including programmers, to develop and implement
cost-effective, technology-driven eDiscovery solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration • Act as a liaison with Compliance,
IT, Records & Information Management, and Information Security to
advise on initiatives with eDiscovery implications, such as AI
governance, Mobile Device policies, cloud-based platforms, and
defensible disposition strategies. • Partner with international
legal teams to ensure adherence to global eDiscovery obligations,
including GDPR compliance and other privacy regulations. • Work
closely with cybersecurity and Information Security teams to manage
incident response eDiscovery investigations. • Collaborate with
procurement and compliance teams to develop and implement legal
records frameworks for risk management, records assessment, and
defensible disposition. • Lead initiatives to procure, implement,
and maintain enterprise archiving solutions for e-communications,
audio recordings, and other data sources. Program Development &
Continuous Improvement • Monitor industry trends, legal
developments, and regulatory changes to assess their impact on the
firm’s eDiscovery program. • Foster a culture of collaboration and
continuous improvement, building partnerships across departments to
advance eDiscovery and data governance goals. • Educate internal
teams on eDiscovery best practices, legal obligations, and
information governance requirements. To be successful in this
