Scale (NIHSS) certification Must-Have: EPIC Computer Charting
Experience Description: Provides professional nursing care based on
current nursing knowledge. Uses the nursing process through
assessment of patient needs. Develops a plan of care to meet
patient needs. Implements nursing interventions and evaluates
patient care outcomes. Cares for patients from neonate to geriatric
age. Subject to scheduled on-call assignments as needed.
Effectively functions as a team member. Acts as a liaison between
patients and staff. Supports and encourages harmonious
communication skills. Requires strong verbal, non-verbal, and
written communication skills. Communicates in a highly professional
manner at all times. Demonstrates mental and emotional tolerance
when dealing with ill patients. Uses tact, sensitivity, judgment,
and professionalism when interacting with patients and families.
Triages every patient entering the emergency care system.
Determines priorities of care based on physical and psycho-social
needs. Documents in-depth nursing history, including chief
complaint and relevant information. Develops and implements a plan
of care based on ongoing assessments. Ensures supplies and
equipment for patient care are readily available. Updates the plan
of care based on continuous assessment and reevaluation. Includes
elements of discharge planning and ongoing discussions with
patients and families. Manages complications and emergencies per
established policies and standards. Recognizes changes in patient
health status and directs appropriate care. Documents and acts on
patient responses to interventions. Implements health education for
patients and families. Educates patients and families on treatment
prior to initiation. Assists with accurate information on health
status and referrals. Documents understanding of discharge teaching
provided to patients and families. Performs related and
