Locum Tenens Medical Oncologist – Du Bois, PA (On-Site, Hospital-Based Oncology) Locum Tenens Medical Oncologist – Du Bois, PA | Board-certified or eligible; DEA, CSR, BLS & ACLS required; 6-month on-site opportunity with option to extend. Key Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $16,330 - $17,500 Location: Du Bois, PA (hospital-based oncology department) — Pennsylvania oncology job Contract Length: 6 months with option to extend Start Date: April 13, 2026 Shift: Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5x8-hour days) Patient Census: 12–15 patients per day (adult oncology and hematology, 18) Support Team: Robust multidisciplinary staff including RNs, nurse navigators, medical assistants, clerical staff, financial navigators, authorization assistants, pharmacists, and pharmacy techs EMR: ONCO (clinic) and Cerner (hospital) Requirements / Qualifications Board Certification in Medical Oncology or Hematology–Oncology; board-eligible considered Active state medical license preferred (Pennsylvania license ideal); IMLC considered DEA registration and controlled substance registration (CSR) required BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 1 year of oncology practice experience (outpatient and/or inpatient consults preferred) Experience with chemotherapy and immunotherapy ordering, toxicity management, and infusion oversight Proficiency with EMR documentation (ONCO and Cerner preferred) Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary cancer care teams Responsibilities Provide inpatient consults and manage new outpatient oncology and hematology referrals Diagnose, stage, and develop individualized cancer treatment plans including chemotherapy and immunotherapy Order and manage systemic anti-cancer therapies, monitor for toxicity, and adjust treatment as needed Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams (pharmacy, nursing, radiation oncology, IR, and support services) Refer patients for procedures (e.g., bone marrow biopsy to Interventional Radiology) and coordinate post-procedure care Document clinical encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up in EMR (ONCO and Cerner) to ensure continuity of care Why Join This Team Competitive locum tenens pay for medical oncology roles Strong clinical support: experienced RNs, infusion team, pharmacists, and navigators Balanced weekday schedule with no weekends—ideal for work-life balance Opportunity to practice both inpatient consults and outpatient oncology clinic work Six-month contract with option to extend in a supportive Pennsylvania healthcare environment Apply now to be considered for this locum tenens medical oncology position in Du Bois, PA.
