Registered Nurse (RN) | Ambulatory Care Location: State College, PA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,266 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/20/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Ambulatory Care RN in State College, Pennsylvania, 16803! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Perioperative Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8 hours (0615-1445) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active nursing license Certifications: N/A Must-Have: IV therapy skills; knowledge of diagnostic measures such as labs, radiology, EKG Description: Assesses and responds to the individual physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the patient through personal observation and interaction. Acts as a patient advocate. Utilizes professional nursing skills and judgment; takes action to implement nursing care and treat the problems identified. Communicates patient assessments to the appropriate individuals, ensuring the coordination of patient care. Demonstrates knowledge of diagnostic measures such as labs, radiology, and EKG. Demonstrates skills in IV therapy. Transcribes and implements physicians' orders accurately and in a timely manner while admitting patients to the surgical center efficiently. Documents in the patient clinical records via computer accurately and in a timely manner. Checks the required information on the patient record to comply with the correct surgical procedures. Completes the final review of the patient record to ensure all paperwork and activities, such as site marking, are complete, and that the anesthesiologist has spoken to the patient and family. Provides appropriate and knowledgeable instruction and education to the patients and their families. Decrements supplies according to policy. Utilizes supplies, equipment, and resources to contain costs without compromising patient care. Assists with housekeeping duties such as cleaning and making beds as needed for patients. When assigned to recovery, uses knowledge and critical thinking to assess and provide appropriate nursing care. Recognizes patients' needs; maintains airway, monitors vital signs, utilizes correct medication to control pain, and consults with relevant personnel if any difficulties arise that affect the patient. Evaluates the patient's status using discharge criteria to safely move the patient onto the next phase. Familiar with the transfer process and procedure to send a patient. When functioning as a float nurse, maintains communication between all areas and is available to assist staff as needed to maintain flow. Relieves staff for breaks and lunch in a timely manner and utilizes staff in a cost-effective manner. Works as assigned in various procedure rooms. Familiar with supplies related to anesthesia; assists with procedures; knows the location of emergency supplies. Participates in committee meetings, offers suggestions for improvements, and seeks guidance and direction when needed.
