MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare organization in the DMV area, is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical Surgical Telemetry team. This role is pivotal in providing top-tier patient care and support within our telemetry units, focusing on patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will be adept at monitoring patient health, administering medications, and collaborating seamlessly with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Monitor patient health status and vital signs regularly. Administer medications as prescribed and oversee patient reactions. Document patient health and treatment efficiently to ensure seamless communication across the medical team. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding treatments and post-hospital care. Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other medical staff to implement comprehensive patient care plans. Strong ability to monitor and interpret patient vitals and telemetry equipment. Proficiency in patient care documentation systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid LPN license in the state of Maryland, Virginia, or Washington D.C. BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
