Registered Nurse (RN) | Outpatient Surgery Location: State College, PA Agency: Thrive Staffing Pay: $1,852 to $2,046 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title RN - PeriOp - Outpatient Surg Ctr - Days City/State: State College, Pennsylvania Shift: 8 hr shifts; 0615-1445 Mon-Fri; no weekends, holidays or call Contract Length: 91 weeks Start Date: 02/09/2026 Job Description: The RN is responsible for assessing and responding to the individual needs of patients in an Outpatient Surgical Center. This includes implementing nursing care, documenting patient records, providing education to patients and families, and maintaining resources efficiently. Responsibilities: Assesses and responds to patients' physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs and acts as an advocate. Implements nursing care and addresses problems using professional judgment. Communicates assessments ensuring coordination of patient care. Demonstrates knowledge of diagnostics such as labs, radiology, and EKG, and skills in IV therapy. Transcribes and implements physicians' orders accurately during patient admissions. Documents in clinical records accurately and checks patient records for surgical procedure compliance. Instructs patients and families, decrements supplies, and contains costs. Assists with housekeeping duties and participates in safe patient transitions in PACU. Functions as a float nurse maintaining communication and assisting where needed. Works in pain management and eye laser procedure rooms and is familiar with emergency supplies.
