Job Description:
MedStar Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a per
diem (PRN) position in our Homecare division based in Silver
Spring. This role is crucial in providing expert therapeutic care
in a home setting, helping patients regain independence after
injury, illness, or aging conditions. The ideal candidate will be a
compassionate, driven professional who is comfortable working
independently in a dynamic homecare environment. At MedStar Health,
we prioritize patient-centered approaches delivered by committed
healthcare professionals. Perform initial and ongoing patient
assessments concerning physical and mental functioning levels.
Develop treatment plans based on patient assessments and doctors'
recommendations. Implement occupational therapy interventions to
enhance patient abilities, focusing on practical adaptation to
their living environments. Educate patients and family members
about appropriate safe handling and hazard awareness to promote a
secure living space. Regularly document patient progress and adjust
treatment plans as necessary. Strong interpersonal and
communication skills to interact with patients, families, and a
multidisciplinary healthcare team. Excellent time management and
organizational skills to handle a varied caseload. Ability to adapt
treatment plans effectively and sensitively to patient needs and
reactions. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life
Insurance 401k Valid and current Occupational Therapy license in
the state of Maryland. Certification from the National Board for
Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Valid driver’s
license and reliable transportation, as this job requires travel to
patient homes.
