An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) to join a prominent medical center in Silver Spring, MD. This 13-week contract position is designed for a highly dedicated professional with a strong background in circulating and scrub roles within the CVOR environment. Candidates will demonstrate comprehensive experience across various surgical service lines, including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and General Surgery. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years' experience preferred; strong general OR experience in multiple service lines accepted for first-time travelers Proven circulating and scrub nursing skills required (hard stop) Current Registered Nurse license in Maryland Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred Ability to manage on-call responsibilities and weekend shifts Schedule and Responsibilities: Four 10-hour day shifts per week (06:45 AM 5:15 PM), including potential early starts for multiple heart cases Weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled On-call duties approximately 10-15 shifts during the contract term, with weekday on-call from shift end to 6:30 AM and 24-hour weekend coverage Floating within the specialty and general OR support as needed Surgical/sterile scrubs provided and expected to be worn during shifts Location Overview: Situated in Silver Spring, MD, this medical center is a vibrant hub combining advanced healthcare services with a welcoming community atmosphere.
