Start date:05/13/2023 End date:07/30/23 Coverage type: Clinic Night Call Schedule: SHIFT/SCHEDULE INFORMATION Mon-Fri 8a-4p Weeknight call: Mon-Fri 4p-8a 24hr Weekend call: Sat-Mon 8a-8a Coverage Dates May 13 to May 21 June 15 to June 18 July 22 to July 30 Candidate Requirements Active PA License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Minimum Years Experience (if applicable): 10 will consider less than 10 but must be able to work solo and independently Job Information Typical Day: The Pathologist is typically in the hospital for a full day on a Mon-Fri basis and is responsible for oversight of a full-service laboratory including the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology section. The Pathologist is involved in gross anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and cytological pathology. The Pathologist attends to the frozen section and biopsy procedures as needed. The Pathologist serves as the Medical Director of the clinical Laboratory providing physician oversight for general Laboratory, Chemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, and Blood Bank sections. The Pathologist may have to respond to a STAT Frozen Section or Blood Bank concern although these are very rare. Typical Cases: Typical Anatomic and Clinical Pathology cases Procedures: Frozen Section cases from Surgical Procedures, Biopsies, Surgical Specimens from the Operating Room and Gastroenterology unit, surgical pathology, non-gyn cytology and pap smears - no autopsies Patient Mix: 98% Adult 2% Peds Other Specialties Onsite: UPMC Hanover provides all of the typical small community hospital services including General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, OB/GYN Surgery, Ear-Nose-Throat Surgery, Interventional Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, Urology, Podiatry, General Cardiology, Medicine.
