The role is focused on telemetry and cardiac step-down care. Responsibilities include monitoring patients with intermediate cardiac conditions. Nurses will care for patients experiencing acute myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, pulmonary edema, and congestive heart failure. The position requires management of arrhythmias and chest pain. Postoperative care for carotid endarterectomy and stenting is also included. Nurses will engage in interventional cardiac catheterization with arterial lines and IV infusions. Professional demeanor is essential in this role. Candidates should also be comfortable providing care to patients of all ages. Weekly guaranteed hours for this position are typically around 36. Flexibility for weekend shifts on an every-other-weekend basis is expected. Additional float requirements may occur as needed. The patient-to-nurse ratio is approximately 5:1 to 6:1. Electronic health record management will be conducted using established systems.
