Job Description:
Relational Data Systems is a subsidiary of Land Services SA, providing technology consulting, software implementation, support, enhancement and hosting services for highly visible, business-critical systems of record. Our staff are located in offices across Australia, serving a number of Australian State and Territory Governments. RDS's core capabilities include:
- Business Analysis: collaborating with partners to formulate business requirements from a business or regulatory need
- Solution Architecture: translating business requirements into functional and non-functional system requirements
- Technical Architecture: developing resilient, secure, extensible, performant architectural frameworks to allow for the delivery of systems
- Software Engineering: building high-quality, valuable solutions using industry best-practice frameworks and approaches, particularly using the Java/Spring stack
- Project Execution: utilising our Scrum approach to project execution to deliver value transparently, quickly and effectively
- Cloud Engineering: Leveraging our status as an AWS Select Tier partner, supporting highly secure and resilient cloud platforms for key business systems
- Service Delivery: implementing and supporting business-critical software systems in accordance with defined procedures and service level agreements
- System Administration: maintaining the underlying
infrastructure required to keep business-critical systems running,
particularly on Linux and AWS systemsAbout the positionThis role is
responsible for all aspects of a project from inception to
completion, includingmanaging all phases including design,
planning,project execution, control and review.The Project Manager
is accountable to theSenior ProjectManagerfor the planning,
coordination and delivery of projects that comprise implementation
of IT solutions to time, cost and quality standards.The role will
be positioned in theICT team within a Project Management Office
(PMO).Key Accountabilities
- Determining and managing the goals, objectives andcompetingpriorities of assigned projects and services including leading client engagements and leading and managing internal change initiatives.
- Resolving complex issues with innovative solutions that are consistent with project and business objectives.
- Effectively applying organisational project methodologies including agile and hybrid approaches.
- Providing expert advice and consultancy to senior management regarding current relevant developments and their potential implications to organisational policies and strategic plans.
- Contributing to a high standard of customer service for internal and external clients and quality management and risk.
- Managing internal and external project resources/suppliers
efficiently and effectively in delivering LSSA internal and client
projects.Key Capabilities

- Experience in both traditional and agile project management methodologies
- Experience in managing software development projects
- Must be prepared to work outside of normal business hours from time to time as required
