ABOUT WOODLAND AND JOB CORPS CENTER The Woodland Job Corps
Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High
School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the
following areas: Electrical Wiring, Carpentry, Building
Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, Advanced Training -
Culinary Arts and Hotel & Lodging. We also assist students with job
placement upon completion of their educational and career technical

across the United States. Each year we provide academic, vocational
training, and placement services to approximately 9,000 young
people from ages 16 to 24 primarily in a residential setting. Our
academic and career technical training programs are accredited and
lead to national industry-recognized credentials. Position Summary
What is a WBL? WBL is short for Work-Based Learning, primarily an
instructional approach into the delivery off applied and and
contextual training. It involves students in work experiences
related to the career field for which they are preparing
(internships, apprenticeships etc.) Responsible to provide students
with employability training leading to full-time jobs, higher
education or advanced training. Coordinates and manages Work-Based
Learning program ensuring students are actively participating in
on- and off-Center on-the-job training assignments to improve
employability skill-set. Provides students with transportation
services and participates in Career Transition Readiness/Grad-90
program. Duties of a WBL Specialist can include but limited to
resume writing, mock interviews, field trips to provide exposure to
workplaces Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:45a - 4:45pm Benefits:

individuals Responsibilities o Follows all integrity guidelines and
procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data. o Ensures
all eligible students participate in WBL. o Markets WBL Program to
staff and students and ensures the importance of WBL is understood.
o Identifies viable WBL employer sites, establishes MOUs and
conducts periodic OSHA and site supervision inspections. o Ensures
Center meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals. o
Interviews, recommends for hire, disciplines, recommends for
termination and evaluates the performance of the employees in the
WBL program. o Establishes supportive/mentoring relationships with
students throughout their enrollment and provides employability and
career counseling. Routinely evaluates student performance, updates
ePCDP, PARs and identifies/remediates barriers preventing student
achievement and success. o Ensures student accountability
procedures are compliant for all WBL students. o Provides
transportation services to meet Center requirements o Produces
quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.
o Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and
work productivity standards. o Plans, prioritizes and organizes
assignments to meet established goals and deadlines. o Understands
and applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required job
responsibilities. Proactively maintains the skills required to
perform job duties. o Mentors, monitors and models the Career
Success Standards as required by the PRH. o Provides high-quality
supervision and management for the student population. Takes swift
and appropriate action and positively influences student behavior.
Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable
for their actions and behavior. o Provides quality programs and
services for students and ensures that quality is maintained and
student needs are met. Pursues improvement and enhancement of
programs and services. o Exchanges ideas and information, both
orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner and
contributes meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant
ideas and knowledge. Provides quality and timely information to
DOL/Company when requested. o Effectively articulates thoughts and
ideas. Identifies problems, analyzes causes and evaluates
appropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions.
Follows up to ensure prompt/appropriate action is taken and that
problems are in fact corrected. o Works in partnership with staff
from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services
are provided to students. o Accepts direction and supervision from
the Center Director/Program Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift
Manager to include assignments to temporarily perform job
responsibilities of other departments and positions. o Other duties
as assigned. Management & Supervision N/a Qualifications
Qualifications Associate’s degree from an accredited school
required. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school preferred.
Prefer previous Job Corps or related program experience. Computer
literacy and proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing
applications required. Must possess a valid in-state Driver’s
License and meet the Company insurability requirements. “Adams and
