Job Description Job Description Employee resignation results in
our search for a full-time custodian who will work second shift (3
p.m. to 11 p.m.), with Sundays and Mondays off as his/her weekend.
The hire will perform all aspects of cleaning, maintenance, repair,
and upkeep of County buildings and grounds to ensure a neat,
orderly, and safe work environment and public impression for
internal and external customers. Specific duties include cleaning
meeting rooms, offices, public areas, and bathrooms; removing
recyclables and trash; dusting, mopping, sanitizing, scrubbing, and
sweeping surfaces; vacuuming, shampooing, stripping, waxing, and
buffing floors; washing ceilings, walls, windows; replacing light
bulbs and batteries; maintaining supplies in paper and soap
dispensers; setting up and tearing down meeting facilities;
loading/unloading deliveries, distributing deliveries, running
errands; sorting mail; performing general maintenance and repairs;
shoveling snow, removing or treating ice; and responding to
off-hours calls. Requirements Qualified applicants will hold a high
school diploma or GED; be available to work extended shifts,
evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays; work independently with a
minimum of supervision; possess at least one year's experience,
preferably in custodial/janitorial field; possess attention to
detail, customer service, diligence, initiative, and pride in work
done well. Applicants must be able to sustain the physical demands
of the active position, occasionally, lifting and carrying up to 50
pounds, standing and walking most of the shift, and regularly using
all parts of the body to accomplish varied responsibilities. Work
will be performed both inside and outside. Benefits Competitive
benefits package starts first of the month following 30 days and
includes 90% employer-paid PPO healthcare with vision and
prescription components, defined benefit pension plan, defined

ample time-off provisions. Hourly rate is $17.39 x 40-hour
