Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a local client in Elkridge, MD in their search for an Accounting Manager to join their team. This hybrid position plays a key leadership role in managing accounting operations and overseeing staff responsible for payables, reconciliations, and general ledger activity. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of GAAP, a proactive mindset, and experience supervising accounting functions in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and provide daily oversight to Accounts Payable staff, the Accounting Coordinator, and the Accounting Specialist to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies. Oversee all accounts payable and corporate credit card activity, ensuring timely processing and adherence to GAAP and company procedures. Review and post monthly and quarterly journal entries including accruals, allocations, depreciation, and adjustments. Monitor cash balances, manage intercompany payments, and liaise with banking partners regarding accounts, services, and fees. Support the preparation of audit schedules and ensure compliance with external audit requirements and tax return submissions. Assist in financial policy development and lead training efforts for finance and non-finance staff regarding accounting procedures and internal controls.
