Lead Payroll Specialist - Hybrid in Owings Mills, MD About the
Company and Lead Payroll Specialist Opportunity: CFS is partnering
with a repeat client, a leading provider of technology solutions
and professional services for over 40 years. Currently they are
looking to add a Lead Payroll Specialist to their small team.
Company boasts low turnover, strong tenure, a collaborative,
professional, social, and customer oriented team, and are growing
and stable company! Schedule: This role is on site in Owings Mills,
MD with two days hybrid . Work M-F between 8:30am-5:30pm, 40 hours
per week. Reports to the Accounting and Tax Compliance Manager
Annual salary starting at $85,000 Job Duties of the Lead Payroll
Specialist: Process the semi-monthly and biweekly payrolls for all
North American employees (400) and Canadian employees (40) Complete
year end reporting and reconciliations Answer employees' questions
regarding payroll, tax and 401K plan Record changes affecting net
wages such as exemptions, insurance deductions, garnishments and
manual checks to ensure YTD earnings are accurate Keep records of
non-taxable wages and contract employees Prepare general ledger
reports and reconcile report discrepancies and problems Compile and
maintain Workers Compensation accounts through payroll reporting
for the payment of monthly, quarterly or annual fees Assist with
any other duties within the Accounting department as requested
Perform employment verifications and answer unemployment insurance
inquiries Qualifications for the Lead Payroll Specialist: 3-5 years
of payroll experience Solid understanding of payroll and payroll
tax laws Knowledge of multistate payroll and Canadian payroll tax
experience a plus, but not required Strong Excel skills (pivot
tables and vlookup knowledge required) Experience using ADP WFN
highly preferred Comfortable working through a recent software
transition Excellent oral and written communication skills
