Job Description:
Duties--- Supervise daily operations of an assigned firefighter
crew.--- Sustain a constant state of readiness of a fire
station.--- Participate in the planning and coordination of
training.--- Prepare detailed reports of daily operation of a fire
stationRequirements Conditions of Employment--- Appointment may be
subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by
a completed background investigation.--- Must undergo
pre-employment and recurring investigations to obtain and maintain
a Secret clearance.--- This position is subject to a pre-employment
drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing
based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement
with an on-duty accident.--- This position requires the completion
of pre-employment and periodic subsequent medical examination in
accordance with DoDM 6055.06 to ensure continued, required level of
physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the
position.--- This position has been designated Mission
Essential.--- This position requires shift work to provide coverage
on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situationsEmployee
shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basisMay include
mandatory overtime and recall to duty.--- The duties of this
position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a
valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.Sstates or
possessions to operate vehicles.--- This position requires the
employee to wear a uniform and use personal protective equipment
provided by the employer.--- This position has a requirement to
lift over 45 lbsin the regular performance of duties.--- Must
participate in a Cardiovascular fitness program.--- Must
successfully complete an annual job performance test.--- This

experience at the second lower level (GS-08) is creditable for
